Everything You Need To Know About Family Planning Funds In Texas, Period.

Go get yourself a coffee. A big one. Or a pint. Or a pack of smokes. Or whatever it will take to give your hands something to do besides look for the closest anti-choice legislator to flip off, because this week’s Austin Chronicle has one of the best, most comprehensive, factually sound and well-written feature articles yet produced about the massive fiscal clusterfuck that is defunding family planning in Texas.

Writer Jordan Smith lays it down long and hard for y’all: in her piece you’ll find anti-choice poster woman Abby Johnson, a good, hard look into why FQHC’s are not and cannot be the answer, and how defunding family planning will negatively affect individual doctors–the ones anti-choicers purport to want to send hundreds of thousands of poor women to in lieu of Planned Parenthood.

Seriously. Go read a thing.
